Meet Feihong Nan
南飞鸿
南飞鸿博士是拥有上百年历史的全球音乐组织“元音琴社”的第四代传承人，自幼受父母熏陶学习琴筝，后师从古筝艺术家，教育家陈文英老师深造。留学加拿大期间，她多次拜访古筝界泰斗范上娥老师，潜心钻研并精进教学技艺。作为一位屡获殊荣的音乐家、社区倡导者和文化大使，南飞鸿每年带领300余名学生、表演者和志愿者，精心策划并举办40多场工作坊和音乐会，倾力推广中国音乐与文化，致力于在多元文化中传承和弘扬中华艺术之美。
南飞鸿受邀为格莱美提名专辑《亚洲之美》（Asia Beauty）录制了古筝和古琴曲目，并与多位加拿大顶级音乐家和艺术家合作。她的贡献为她赢得了包括密西沙加文化传承奖（Heritage Legacy Award）和2024年参议员Victor Oh传承奖（Senator Victor Oh Legacy Award）在内的多项荣誉。此外，南飞鸿还曾担任加拿大首都地区音乐节（National Capital Region Music Festival）以及博鳌国际音乐节加拿大赛区的评委，并受邀成为Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival第一位华裔董事会成员。
Dr. Feihong Nan is an award-winning musician, community advocate, and cultural ambassador. As the founder of the Canadian division and a fourth-generation member of the Yuan Yin Group, a global organization established in 1920 to connect people through music, Feihong has led over 300 performers and volunteers annually, organizing more than 40 workshops and concerts to support the community. Signature initiatives include the ‘Youth Leader for Music and Health Program’ and the annual Music Connect concert, showcasing traditional Chinese instruments such as the Guzheng and Qin.
Feihong’s innovative work bridges generations and cultures. She has inspired diverse audiences through her efforts to promote Chinese music and culture creatively, such as teaching children the Guzheng, connecting seniors with youth through music therapy, and introducing the Qin, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage instrument with over 3,000 years of history, to global audiences.
A distinguished performer, Feihong recorded Guzheng and Qin music for the Grammy-nominated album Asia Beauty by Ron Korb and has collaborated with leading Canadian musicians. Her contributions have earned her accolades, including the Heritage Legacy Award from Heritage Mississauga and the Senator Victor Oh Legacy Award in 2024. Feihong has also served as an adjudicator for the National Capital Region Music Festival and is first Canadian-Chinese board director for the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival.
Meet Lina Cao

Lina Cao is a world-renowned guzheng virtuoso celebrated for her profound contributions to Chinese traditional music and her visionary approach to blending Eastern and Western musical traditions. Spanning continents, Lina has redefined guzheng artistry, breaking cultural boundaries and establishing herself as one of the most influential figures in contemporary Chinese music.
Beginning her guzheng studies at the age of five, Lina demonstrated exceptional talent from a young age. Lina trained under China’s top masters, including Wang Wei, Ren Jie, Yanai Hua, and Li Meng, and earned degrees from the Nanjing University of the Arts and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Combining tradition with modern expression, Lina’s performances have graced prestigious stages worldwide, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, captivating global audiences.
Throughout her career, Lina has collaborated with premier ensembles such as the China Broadcasting Film Symphony Orchestra, the Atalanta Youth Wind Symphony，the Canadian Children's Opera Company, the Toronto Chinese Orchestra, the Canada London Symphonia, James Madison University Symphony Orchestra(U.S.), Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra(U.S.) and the Canadian Arabic Orchestra. Lina has also worked with renowned conductors like Pang JiaPang, Wang Aikang, Teri Dunn, Kira Omelchenko and Matthew Poon, renoewned composers like He Zhanhao，Alice Ho, Sandeep Bhagwati, and Andrew Stainland, world premiering critically acclaimed works that push the boundaries of guzheng performance.
Lina's accolades include double gold prizes for solo and ensemble guzheng at the Singapore International Chinese Arts Festival (2008) and China’s highest honors, the "Golden Bell Award" (2012) and the "Wenhua Award" (2008). Lina also received the "World Peace International Appreciation Award" at the Sino-Japanese Friendship Concert and was nominated for "Outstanding Chamber Performance" at the 40th Dora Mavor Moore Awards in Canada (2017). Lina’s performances have been broadcast by CBC Music（2020） and Chicago’s WFMT Radio Network（2014）, and in 2024, she received funding from the Canada Council for the Arts.
As the founder and music director of the Toronto Guzheng Ensemble, Lina has led the group to premiere numerous innovative works at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Isabel Bader Theatre at the University of Toronto. Through performances and recordings, she has elevated guzheng chamber music to new heights.
Lina is also a dedicated educator, serving as the first guzheng instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University music faculty and frequently lecturing at institutions such as the music faculties of University of Toronto, York University (CA), James Madison University Symphony Orchestra(U.S.), University of Wisconsin Eau Claire(U.S.). Using music as a cultural bridge, Lina continues to infuse new vitality into guzheng artistry, solidifying its place on the global stage.

五岁开始学习古筝，曹丽娜展现出非凡的天赋。她师从中国古筝顶级名师，包括王蔚、任洁、阎爱华和李萌，并先后毕业于南京艺术学院本科和上海音乐学院硕士。她的演奏将传统与现代完美融合，足迹遍布卡内基音乐厅、意大利中国文化艺术节，温哥华沧海龙吟音乐节、北京国家大剧院等世界顶级舞台，赢得全球观众的赞誉。
职业生涯中，她与中国广播电影交响乐团、加拿大儿童歌剧团、多伦多中国乐团、加拿大伦敦交响乐团，美国詹姆斯麦迪逊大学交响乐团，美国欧克莱尔室内交响乐团和加拿大阿拉伯乐团等顶级乐团合作。她还与著名指挥家彭家鹏，王爱康，Teri Dunn, Kira Omelchenko and Matthew Poo，著名作曲家何占豪，Alice Ho、Sandeep Bhagwati和Andrew Staniland等合作，世界首演了多部广受好评的创新作品。

Meet Yu Zhang
张玉
Yu Zhang is a dedicated guzheng educator and performer with over 20 years of teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Jiangsu Education Institute, where she specialized in guzheng performance, and furthered her studies at the Central Conservatory of Music. A highly respected figure in the guzheng community, she serves as a permanent council member of the Xuzhou Orchestral Society, a council member of the Xuzhou Musicians’ Association, and a nationally certified senior guzheng teacher accredited by the Central Conservatory of Music.
张玉女士是一位热心投入的古筝教育家与演奏家，拥有二十余年的教学经验。她毕业于江苏教育学院音乐教育专业，主修古筝，后进修于中央音乐学院。作为古筝领域的知名人物，她担任江苏徐州管弦乐学会常驻理事、徐州音乐家协会理事，同时是中央音乐学院认证的全国古筝高级教师。
